New Orleans Saints Case Study

Kyle Campbell, Director of Game Day Entertainment for the New Orleans Saints, shares his thoughts on Shoflo.

About Saints Game Experience:

Our entire organization takes great pride in being ranked #1 in Overall Gameday Satisfaction and #1 in Game Entertainment in the NFL. These rankings did not come overnight and are a testament to the hard work and commitment of countless people who work on game preparation and execution. We have the best fans in the NFL and know the impact they have on games in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome so each week, we strive to give our fans the best experience possible. Our Senior Leadership continues to push us to innovate and find creative and unique ways to tell the story of the game which really forces us to think outside the box.

About Shoflo:

To be honest, I was a bit hesitant about Shoflo at first, but once I saw how easy everything is inside the app I knew how crucial a tool Shoflo would be for our team. We essentially used Shoflo as a server for all of our scripts, timelines, and documents pertaining to our show. It makes so much sense to keep all of this information in one centralized location that is easy to navigate in just a couple of clicks.

Once the first game script was built, and elements saved as Global Elements, building our scripts became simpler than I could have ever imagined. It is also nice to have multiple people be able to work on the script at once. I could have my associate changing out the names of the National Anthem singer and Color Guard Group as I am rearranging our breaks.

On game day, Shoflo became incredibly crucial to us executing a smooth show. I have one of our associates sitting next to me that is tracking the show as I call it. Our show moves constantly as we lose breaks due to touchdowns, injuries, and official reviews. Therefore, being able to move lines around in seconds, was critical. Also, having our Control Room and PA Announcer tracking me live, made things much smoother instead of having to tell everyone which line items were coming up, I could just say, “Check Shoflo!”

As far as which side of the kickoff did I find Shoflo more useful….that’s a tough one. On one hand, it’s the way it helped us in the week leading up to the game because of the amount of scripts, timelines, and documents we have to produce. On the flip side, it’s during the game because all of those documents go out the window when we actually run our show. I guess if I had to choose one, Shoflo helped the most when running our games, but I promise the amount that we benefitted from it leading up to kickoff does not go unnoticed.

For anyone not already using Shoflo, I would tell them that the biggest gain that this service provides you is the ease of building a script. Once you have your template build out and organized, script building has truly never been easier.
